The Pierce Military and Business Alliance (PMBA)
was established to encourage mutual cooperation between the United States
military installations and units located in Pierce County, State of Washington,
and the regional business and civilian community, and to support military
health, welfare, morale, recruitment and retention activities by means of
fundraising including for such purposes everything necessary, proper,
convenient, or incidental to such purposes not specifically disallowed by law.
PMBA shall exercise full control over all donated funds and discretion as to
their use to ensure furtherance of the corporations charitable purposes. PMBA
may make grants, contributions, or otherwise render financial assistance in
furtherance of the corporations charitable purposes.
PMBA may make grants to any organization organized
and operated exclusively for charitable or educational purposes within the
meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, whether or not the
Internal Revenue Service has recognized such organization as exempt under that
section. PMBA may accept contributions subject to the request or advice of a
donor as to an appropriate use of the funds, provided such use would further
PMBA's charitable purposes. Contributions to PMBA are deductible for Federal
Income Tax purposes to the full extent permitted by law. The United States
Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, includes the Pierce Military and
Business Alliance in its "Cumulative List of Organizations" described in Section
170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code which are exempt from Federal Income Taxes
under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Federal Identification
